bakery, bread You cannot leave New York without stopping at one of the amazing bakeries the city has to offer. New York City is home to some of the best pastry chefs in the world. Some of the best bakeries in my opinion are Magnolia Bakery, The City Bakery, The Cupcake Café, and The Sullivan Street Bakery. As you can see I am a real sweet lover. I like to go around to all different bakeries after falling in love with the TV show Cake Boss.

Magnolia Bakery
401 Bleecker Street New York, NY 10014
Located on Bleaker Street, it could be a pain to get there but once you are there is it absolutely worth it. The shop is absolutely adorable as well. They have everything to choose from including cupcakes, cakes, icebox desserts, pies, cookies, and bars. They also serve breakfast. If you don’t like traveling to that part of the city you can order the desserts online to try it out.

The City Bakery
3 West 18th Street New York, New York 10011
Another amazing legendary bakery located that is located footsteps away from 5th Avenue. This bakery is a very famous tourist spot since it has been in New York for many years. It is not only a bakery it is a cafe, coffee bar, and cafeteria. What makes this bakery so special is that they create seasonal menus from locally grown organic raw materials. I have only had the baked goods but if there food is anything like their pastry it will be delicious.

Cupcake Cafe
545 9th Avenue New York, NY 10018
This next bakery that is to die for the name says it all, The Cupcake Cafe has some of the best cupcakes I have ever tasted. The Cupcake Café is located on 9th Avenue between 40th & 41st Street so it is pretty convenient from Port Authority or 5th Ave. The cupcakes are a bit pricey but worth every penny. The homemade frosting is just delicious! The cupcakes are decorated with the cutest flowers that just give the cupcakes a little something special.

Sullivan Street Bakery
533 West 47th Street New York, NY 10036
Located on West 47th Street, The Sullivan Street Bakery is another must stop bakery. The bakery was build in 2000 in Hell’s Kitchen by owner Jim Lahey and it has been doing great every since. I love the pastry their, it is made to perfection and is always fresh. They also make their own bread that you can buy and I would suggest the semi di sesamo. They also serve pizza and panini’s that I have never had but heard they were very tasty.
