Who said that soccer is not popular in New York? Over 38,000 people attended a soccer match between two elite clubs Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) this Sunday, July 22nd. The game ended up as a tie, 1:1 but it was definitely fun to watch! PSG put more pressure and had more chances in the first half of the game. And indeed Anderson Luiz de Carvalho , known as Nene scored a beautiful goal in the 30th minute for PSG.
Chelsea played much better in the second half, and Lucas Piazon, an 18-year old Brazilian scored toward the end of the game.
Chelsie captain John Terry played in the second half of the game and was given a standing ovation. Other famous Chelsie players, Petr Cech, Frank Lampard, Ashley Cole, Paulo Ferreira got plenty of support from NYC Chelsea fans.
